Streams of Prayer

A mobile app I built to explore cross-platform development while solving a personal need for prayer reminders. What started as a simple Android app for myself turned into a multi-year learning journey when friends and family wanted to use it too.

The Journey:

• Built the first version as a native Android app for personal use
• Migrated to React Native to support both iOS and Android
• Shipped to both the App Store and Google Play
• Learned mobile development, push notifications, and app store deployment the hard way

This project taught me the real trade-offs between native and cross-platform development by actually shipping to production. I’ve since retired the app—better alternatives now exist, and life has changed. But it served its purpose as a learning platform while helping people along the way.
